Confirmation Preparation

Welcome Candidates and Parents of Confirmation 2023-2024

You are here because your child is ready for the Confirmation Sacrament. This is wonderful!

The first step, which is mandatory, is to attend the Parent and Candidate meeting at St. John of the Cross Parish. Meetings already happened on September 24 and 26, 2023. Your last chance to attend is on Thursday, October 12th. If you have not registered for this meeting yet, do it now by clicking on this link::

We strongly recommend that you bring the following to the Parent Meeting:

• Registration Fee ($50) - exact cash or cheque payable to St. John of the Cross Parish
• Confirmation Registration Form - complete online or submit a completed hardcopy or do both
• Candidate's Baptism Certificate or Certificate of Reception to the Catholic Church

We also recommend that you bring these completed and signed forms (see below):

• Candidate Covenant Form
• Sponsor Form

The Decision Point workbook will be used for the sessions and it will be provided to you once we receive the Registration Fee.

The Candidate Covenant form, Registration Form, and Sponsor Form may be downloaded from the "IMPORTANT RESOURCES AND FORMS" section below. You may also pick up hard copies from the Parish Office before or after the Parent Meeting.

IMPORTANT: Candidates can participate in the Decision Point sessions only if we have received the Registration and Covenant forms. We will not be able to assign your child's Confirmation Date until we receive the child's baptismal certificate and completed sponsor's form.

At the Parent meeting you will be provided with information required for your child to successfully complete the Rite of Confirmation process. This page provides a summarized list of requirements and digital versions of the documents that you will need to complete or use as reference.

The following must be submitted to the Parish as soon as possible and before December 1st:

• Candidate's Baptism Certificate or Certificate of Reception to the Catholic Church
• Completed Sponsor Form

CONFIRMATION SCHEDULE FOR 2023-2024

Rite of Enrollment

Attend any of the masses on Saturday/Sunday of October 21/22 or October 28/29, 2023 at the church.

Decision Point Sessions 

All five (5) sessions will be at the Church Hall. Confirmation candidates MUST attend all sessions. Days / Time: Saturdays = 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

Note: The Candidate's Group # will be assigned later. Important: Only those who have submitted the  registration form (online or hardcopy) and submitted all required documents listed on the website will  be assigned a Group #.
