The Catholic Women's League known as the CWL was formed at St. John of the Cross in 2022.
The Catholic Women's League is a non-profit organization that unites Catholic women in Canada and around the world. We work together to achieve individual and collective spiritual development, promote the teachings of the Catholic church, and exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life.
The CWL enhances the role of women in church and society and to contribute to the understanding and growth of religious freedom, social justice, peace, and harmony.
We meet the third Wednesday of each month at the church. We do fundraising activities to support the pastor, church, and community. We hope that you can join us and show your special talents by selling your goods or buy the products for sale.
We do letter writing campaigns to the government to voice our opinions on the horrible concerns in our Nursing Home, palliative care, Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), and abortion. CWL has a strong voice with the government on important issues. The more members we have, the stronger our voice will be with government representatives.
The CWL supports our children with different events to promote cahtolic living such as Speech Awards, Essay and Poetry Awards, Scholarships, and Youth Service Award Contest.
