Altar Society

The purpose of this ministry is to provide care and maintenance of the sacristy and sanctuary and preparations for liturgical ceremonies.

As a member of the Altar Society you are expected to work with a team of five others on rotation at least one hour a week (usually Saturday morning at approximately 10AM) to wash and care for all the vessels used in the liturgy; dust and tidy the Sanctuary and Altar; tend to floral and or plant arrangements; ensure all linens are washed, ironed and in place for the following week; ensure all vestments are ready for services; check supplies of hosts, wines and candles; decorate the church for special occasions.
